Fees & funding
WorkCover & 3rd Party
If your mental health condition arises from a workplace injury, motor vehicle accident or other insured event, treatment at Mind Connections may be fully funded by the relevant insurer.
Clinicians consulting at Mind Connections regularly treat patients under WorkCover and third party arrangements, and can provide specialist psychiatric treatment, advanced treatments such as TMS and esketamine where clinically indicated, treatment reports required by the insurer, and medical certificates for leave during treatment.
Before you book
Insurer approval must be in place before treatment begins under a WorkCover or third party arrangement. Contact reception before booking with your claim number, insurer details and case manager contact. Your GP referral should mention the claim. Reception will guide you through the approvals process, including pre-approvals for specialist treatments.
What is typically covered
- Psychiatric assessment and ongoing consultations related to the accepted condition
- Psychological therapy sessions with appropriate approval
- TMS and esketamine treatment with prior insurer approval, where clinically indicated
- Medical certificates for time away from work during a treatment course
- Clinical reports requested by the insurer, billed to the insurer
If approval is delayed
Insurance approvals can take time, and waiting for approval while unwell is hard. If your approval is delayed, talk to reception about proceeding under Medicare in the interim, with the expectation that insurer funding takes over once approval is granted, subject to the insurer's position. Treatment should not wait indefinitely while administrative processes run their course.
