We aim to make referring as straightforward as possible, with clear pathways, prompt triage, timely post-consultation correspondence to your practice, and named contact points at each clinic. Assessment-only referrals under MBS item 291 are welcomed where you wish to retain ongoing management: the psychiatrist provides a comprehensive diagnostic assessment and written management plan for you to follow, with reviews available under item 293.
