Group Therapy Programs

There is something uniquely powerful about working through challenges alongside people who genuinely understand them. Group therapy programs at Mind Connections combine the structure and expertise of clinician-led treatment with the connection, perspective and encouragement that come from a shared experience.

Groups are facilitated by experienced clinicians and run at the Norwest clinic, which includes a dedicated conference room for group programs and education sessions, with programs also offered at Carlingford from time to time.

Programs offered

Group programs vary across the year and may include anxiety management programs teaching practical, evidence-based skills; emotional regulation skills groups drawing on DBT-informed approaches; social reintegration groups, including programs designed for veterans rebuilding connection after service; and condition-specific education programs for patients and families.

Is group therapy right for me?

Group therapy can stand alone or complement individual treatment, and many people find the combination especially effective. Joining a group is normal to feel hesitant about; most participants report that the initial nervousness fades quickly and that hearing from others facing similar challenges is one of the most valuable parts of the experience. Your clinician can advise whether a current program suits your needs, or you can ask reception about upcoming groups.
