Book with Dr Amit Gupta

“My special interests include assessment of cognition and dementia, assessment of falls, Parkinson's disease, depressive disorders in the elderly, and chronic medical conditions including cardiovascular and other neurological problems.”

Dr Amit Gupta graduated MBBS from the University of New South Wales in 2005.

He completed physician training across Concord, Westmead, and Nepean Hospitals before being admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2018, gaining clinical privileges at Nepean Hospital and Nepean Private Hospital.

As a geriatrician, Dr Gupta’s practice focuses on cognition and dementia assessment, falls, Parkinson’s disease, depressive disorders in the elderly, and the chronic medical conditions, cardiovascular, neurological, and musculoskeletal, that often shape day-to-day function in older life. He also provides rehabilitation following stroke, brain tumours, multiple sclerosis, spinal and cardiac surgery, joint replacement, and orthopaedic trauma.

He sees patients across hospital, residential aged care, and home-visit settings. Dr Gupta places particular emphasis on recovery-based rehabilitation that supports older Australians to return to daily life and retain their independence.

Dr Gupta takes a holistic approach to geriatric medicine, understanding that the concerns facing older adults such as, physical health, cognition, mobility, mood, medications, social supports, and daily functioning, are typically interconnected and best addressed together.
