Paul is a WDO and SIRA-accredited psychologist with over a decade of experience, including ten years as a school counsellor before transitioning to clinical practice. He works with adults and adolescents across a wide range of presentations, with specialist expertise in psychometric assessment, including IQ, adaptive functioning, and over 300 ADHD assessments completed to date. Paul also has extensive experience supporting clients with psychological injury through NSW Workers Compensation and CTP claims.
A central part of Paul’s approach is psychoeducation grounded in a strong working knowledge of the brain. Understanding why we think, feel, and behave the way we do, rather than just that we do, tends to reduce self-criticism, make sense of patterns that felt random or shameful, and give clients a more useful foundation for change.
Paul draws on a range of treatment modalities depending on the client and the work at hand, including psychoeducation, psychoanalysis, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), solution-focused therapy and hypnosis.
